What is your rate on getting grades lower than a 9? When that happens do you still sell through PSA or is it more cost effective to ship it back and crack the slab?

Good question. So less than 5% of our submissions get lower than 9s but it does happen. And we just sell it as is through PSA. A lot of times they actually sell for pretty close to 9 value surprisingly.

Does the autograph ever come into play? I wouldn’t think it would but what are the Auto grades based on for PSA? Like what determines a 10.

And a side question, if you submitted for Auto & card grading and got a 10 for both, would those go for a lot more than just a 10 for the card.

We don't do auto grades so I don't have a lot of insights here. I've found that the increased prices for a PSA 10 with Auto 10 is not enough to be worth the increased turnaround time and cost (plus the risk of getting an Auto 9 or worse).

I've been sending cards out to psa and some cards came back as 8 and I've been wanting to know do they give notes on what they found on cards that dont grade a 10?

For more expensive service levels they give notes, but from what I’ve seen they can be pretty vague. For standard service levels they don't give notes unfortunately.
