George Lombard Jr. is one of the hottest names right now in cards, and understandably so given that he’s a former top prospect who’s now the starting shortstop of the New York Yankees (I also think he gets a bit of extra love for finally replacing Anthony Volpe…).
Usually strong grading math follows an increase in demand for a player, and Lombard is no exception. And as you’ll see if you look at the listings of any of these cards on eBay, there’s lots of supply available. This is a great combination if you’re trying to make money grading a player — you have lots of options to find gemable cards, and strong margins to make if you pick correctly.
Most of the products are 2024 Bowman Chrome Autos, which is a product we’ve graded a lot (and done well on). In general, the main things to look for are front centering and surface scratches.
